put oneself into someone else's shoes

I like this expression and I like its meaning too.
These days I'm worried about empathy, I mean the lack of empathy.
First I have the responsibility of explaining what empathy is. It is defined as "feeling or expressing emotion for another". It’s the ability to understand the feelings, the needs and problems of others, putting oneself in their place and answering in consequence.

Nowadays people are concerned about their own life and nothing else but gossip. On one hand, “Hola” “semana” “whatever”….there are a lot of magazines explaining people lives. On the other hand, there are TV programs talking about famous or not so famous people, or also the reality shows, all these kinds of Big Brother shows. Besides, even the news bulletins have this sort of gossip style!

In our daily life, we have friends, colleagues, acquaintances, neighbors, partners, fellows. Most of the time, routine takes place over us; we are not able to “see” them. We should talk with all these people around us as people used to do some time ago, trying to put a little of empathy in our relationship with all of them. I’m sure we will be happier than now.
At least we should try.

I’m going to put myself into someone else’s shoes.

Hello Butterfly!

I agree with your proposition: trying to put oneself in the place of someone else is enjoyable, but it's a real difficult goal you never reach totally. When I was about 6 years old, I remember I couldn’t understand why I wasn't able to get out from myself, from my inside, from my own feelings and jump in someone else inside, just in order to check that I wasn't alone in the Universe. Still, I think in the weird and permanent experience of feeling alone in my inside. That’s probably why I love good literature, because it's an approximation to the insides of many different human beings. I think good authors probably are really able of empathy, just like Truman Capote when he wrote In Cold Blood and probably if all of us were able of doing that, we will agree that by killing someone else we are just killing us and Death Penalty will disappear as a logical consequence...

Nice feelings you communicate with this piece of writing!

Have a look at my language comments:
I think the expression you are suing goes like this:
"Put Yourself Into Someone Else's Shoes"
First of all, consider revising punctuation in your piece. Then see these...
You use "those" when you should use THESE a couple of times.
I(0) worry about (0) empathy
OR -I’m WORRIED about (0) empathy
-EXPLAIN SOMETHING TO SOMEONE
-stile (check spelling!!)
- ON ONE HAND... ON THE ONTER HAND not "By one side" "By other"
-all thEse kindS of Big Brother showS
-In OUR daily life
-Most of the time, (0) routine takeS place into us
