Urban stories

I think, an urban story is a type or a sort of uncanny story....
One of the differences is the audience to whom it is directed.
Another difference, probably the most important, is that uncanny story can have a good ending, while an urban story can never have a good ending because the intention is to give a lesson: common sense, moral, good behaviour... the typical "grandmother's tale" but modern, present-day.
All this explanation is done before my research in the internet...but I'm so sure of it!
You'll tell me!

I am not really sure if you are absolutely right. In any case it is a thoughtful development of what an urban story might be. Good for you! Thanks for the contribution!

Here are some other comments:

-uncanny stories can HAVE a good ending,
-AN urban story CAN never (WO)have a good ending
-the intention is TO give a lesson
-All THIS explanation is done before my research
-from THE internet

Never thought about the differences between an uncanny story and an urban myth. My feeling is that an uncanny story is usually more mysterious and an urban myth might or might not be mysterious.
